Open Season North American box office

Open Season a Comedy, Kids/Family and Sony Pictures Animation unit, sold about $23 million worth of tickets during its first three days beginning on Friday. The new animal cartoon "Open Season" tracked down the No. 1 spot at the North American box office. The Guardian" sharing top billing with Kevin Costner, which opened at No. 2 with $17.7 million. The story about a 900-pound domesticated grizzly bear named Boog and a scrawny, one-horned mule deer named Elliot end up stranded together in the woods during hunting season and it's up to the duo to rally all the other forest animals and turn the tables on the hunters. Martin Lawrence voices a domesticated bear named Boog, who is set loose in the wilderness just before the start of hunting season. Ashton Kutcher plays his partner-in-crime, a one-antlered mule deer.
